Going to Boston

Jan-25-2007 By

I haven’t been to Boston, actually, I haven’t been to US! Of course, I wish that one day I’ll have the opportunity to go to Boston, and might just stay there for a short holiday with my kids.

If the stay is quite long, I’d be considering renting Boston Condos as I like to have a homely environment and a place to cook the kids meal occasionally too. Most importantly, the rental of the condo has to be affordable to us and the location has to be safe to our kids too. Luckily, I can get some help from CondoCompany.com which has recently launched a program called “Building Specialists”. These agents can help to find the condos that meet my specific requirements, without me having to go through the middlemen too!

Ok, got to start saving up for this trip, which is yet to be materialized in the years to come!

Fly Me to Mexico!

Jan-21-2007 By

I want to go on a holiday, to some place located on the Mexican Pacific Coast, with mountains rim the city, with tropical jungles reaching to the beach and the azure sea. There are dolphins in the bay year-round, and humpback whales migrate here between November and March. In this old-world colonial style village, I can still indulge myself in luxury hotels and resorts specializing in all-inclusive Mexico vacations.

You can get this from Puerto Vallarta all inclusive. So, wanna join me?

Going to KL Again!

Jan-7-2007 By

I’m leaving for KL early tomorrow morning. We had to bring my maid to renew her passport at Indonesian immigration and since I’m going along, my kids follow as well as there’s no one to take care of them at home.

Hubby and I got used to bring my kids wherever we go, and prefer to bring them along too. Lots of my friends are very kiasi to bring their kids when they’re going out or going somewhere further. I don’t understand why they keep excluding their kids in the trips and think that kids are troublesome. Here’s what I think:

Kids are not troublesome,
only the parents’ attitudes towards their own kids are negative!!!

If you got used to taking care of your kids by yourself, just like I do, you understand what I mean.

As long as I plan early on what to pack, it’s a piece of cake bring kids for trips. So, I’ll normally pack stuffs like these:

  1. Kids clothes (not too much, can always buy)
  2. Diapers, preferable diaper pants
  3. Baby jar food or cereal, raisin, water, crackers and Justin’s formula milk
  4. Baby towel, I prefer not to use hotel towel for my kids
  5. Baby toiletries
  6. Medication like paracetamol, if my kids are not well
  7. Books and toys, just a few, to keep them company
  8. Camera!!!
  9. Baby wipes for hands and mouth (from Pigeon)
  10. Handkerchiefs, or just tissue so can be disposed
  11. 2 mini bolsters
  12. Please add for me if I left something important…….

I don’t have to bring bottles for Isabelle as she’s breastfeeding exclusively, so I don’t have to worry about sterilizing the bottle for her. If not, sterilizing pills are very convenient.

Some friends said that their babies are very fussy during bedtime, and they need to sleep in sarong cradle. But hello? Why sarong cradle in the first place? If you need sarong cradle, get a sarong sling then, it’s about the same!

Anyway, practise makes perfect. Sometimes my kids are fussy too when we’re out, but we’re their parents, we should know better how to handle them. If you haven’t tried, you’ll never know how to improve on bringing kids out. Am I right?

Driving on the Road

Jan-7-2007 By

I prefer to drive by myself as it’s a total freedom to me to get to wherever I want. I started driving at 17 years old, and was very bold on the road. I think I could be considered as a reckless young driver then.

I could still remembered that I drove on the highway from Penang to Sungai Petani, the day after I got my licence! My dad was with me, and he was pretty nervous and kept telling me to watch out of the big lorries and trucks on the highway.

Here are some very valuable tips for safe highway driving around large trucks:
* Stay out of a truck’s blind spots or “No Zones.”
* Be careful when attempting to pass a truck.
* Do not swerve in front of a truck or cause the driver to come to a sudden stop.
* Avoid “Squeeze Play” when a large truck needs to make a wide turn.
* Do not cut off a large truck or passenger bus.
