Postpone My Trip to Bali

Mar-31-2007 By

I supposed to fly to Bali on Monday, but the trip was postponed to August due to unforeseen circumstances. I supposed to go with my yoga friends, but since the yoga instructor couldn’t make it, what’s the point of going now? So, my friends and I delay the trip until August in hope that our husbands and kids can come along.

Frankly, I’m a bit disappointed as I needed a break badly. Bali is one of the over fourteen thousand islands of the Indonesian archipelago. It has lots of nice beaches to offer.

If you like sunbathing, or just do nothing by the beach, then it’s really a great vacation destination. But what I like to do if I’m there with my kids and hubby is having a stroll by the beach watching sunset/sunrise. We haven’t been on a beach vacation for a long time already. I miss snorkeling…I can’t dive because I don’t have license for that. But divers will surely love to see how beautiful the corals are in the sea…

My friend who had been there said there’s nothing much to shop. But for a shopaholic like me, I don’t think I’ll having problems looking for things to buy!

I will get one batik, at least! It will looking nice on me with bikini. :)

To attract hubby to be there with me, I need to let him know there are lots of golf course there in Bali. If he wants to drag his set along, I don’t really mind, as long as he plays his golf while I have my spa!

But then, who’s going watch the kids!!! I got to drag my parents along too. LOL!

Traveling with Kids

Mar-31-2007 By

Everyone who knows me knows that I like traveling with my kids. I like bringing along to wherever I go, no matter how far or near it is. It’s not as inconvenient as many will think when traveling along with kids. As long as you plan your trip well, keep your cool, set a lower boundary by not expecting your kids to be perfect, everyone should be able to enjoy a nice trip together.

My younger baby is only 11 months old. She on breastmilk, so I don’t have to worry about her taking clean water. But my boy is taking tape water or mineral water. I think I have to get some Portable Water Filters to filter the water he is taking if we are going to Cambodia with my brother next year. I know it water condition there might not be as good as over here, and I don’t want to risk all of us getting sick there due to dirty drinking water.

If you are interested in getting one, you can get them online and shipped from US. See, shopping online is great huh? :)

I’m driving hubby’s pickup truck these day, and frankly, it doesn’t look good with lady drivers! But it makes me feel safer driving on the road, until time comes when I need to park the Ranger! It’s a bit hard to park it nicely as I only estimate the space it needs, and besides, I’m lousy at parking!

However, the truck is particularly useful when you need to move things around. The boot at the back can place lots of stuffs, except long ladder. It’s too short for ladders, so if you are driving a pick up truck just like me, and you are transporting ladder frequently, maybe you need to get a ladder rack. There are lots of ladder racks available from this website, just take a look at them!

Dream of Japan

Mar-28-2007 By

Last year, a friend of mine told me that she would be going to Japan some time right now. I told her that I wanted to join her, but seems like I can’t make it right now. *Sob sob*

The reason why I wanted to go badly now is I have never seen sakura, and SIL#4 who went there for honeymoon said they are lovely. Tokyo is a nice place to visit, not only for shopping, but the food is great too. They went there with a Japanese friend who brought them to all those nice restaurants, golf course, and shopping!

I thought that if I’m going with her, I will save up on accommodation as her husband is staying in Tokyo, and I have just “tumpang”. LOL! Want to save up for shopping mah….

Never mind, there will always be next time. And if my kids are coming along, we’ll definitely go to Disneyland! My dad told me it’s great and he missed Disney too!

My Dream Family Vacation

Mar-28-2007 By

I told hubby that my yoga trip to Bali may be postponed. Instead of going with friends, I prefer to go with him and the kids. We have longed for a family vacation to some nice beaches for a long time.

It’s not hard to plan for a beach vacation, after I get the flight tickets, all I need is get the accommodation by checking out vacations.net. If I’m planning for a trip, I’ll go for the all-inclusive vacation resorts which offer great value, no hassles, and an abundance of fun and relaxation. Most resorts include in the price of the room includes meals, beverages, tips and gratuities, activities like scuba, snorkeling, entertainment and airport transfers.

Now, that’s what I call STRESS FREE HOLIDAY!

Egypt

Mar-1-2007 By

My brother and his wife are going to Egypt tomorrow. So shiok!!! They have vacation at least once a year and had been to a few nice places in the world, even more than me!!!

I’m fully aware of the the famous singer YanZi’s bad experience in Egypt, but that doesn’t stop me from willing to visit it one day. Since young I like history a lot, and was always fascinated by the pyramids and the Sphinx.

Dunno when can I have a chance to go to Egypt! Let’s see how my brother’s trip first.

Rome, Italy

Mar-1-2007 By

I have heard a few good comments from friends and my brother who have been to Rome. I’ve never been to Rome, but I really hope to set my feet in the capital of Italy one day as soon as I can! Just can’t wait to see the temples, residences, basilicas, churches, palazzi, piazzi, parks, museums and fountains which are the major tourist attractions in Rome.

As I prefer free and easy trips, I need to book for the hotels by myself. With today’s technology, online booking is only a piece of cake! I like this hotel….

The outlook of the hotel which looks like a castle caught my attention! It is The Grand Hotel Plaza, one of the oldest and most prestigious hotels in Rome, is located in the heart of the historical centre, just a few steps away from Trinita’ dei Monti, otherwise known as the Spanish Steps where most of the elegant shops are found.

Check out the room….

It makes me feel like living in fairy tales! :) But it’s out of my budget as it’s a 5-star hotel. So, I got to work harder for a trip to ROME!
