History Freak

Jun-29-2007 By

I’m one of those history freak that loves to visit the Museum. However, it’s not easy to find someone who has the same interests as me, and accompany me to the museum or historical spot. My brother who visited Egypt complained so much about the trip, but I still want to see Egypt in my own eyes, despites the negative comments he told me about the country.

If I’m going to Hawaii, I will surely visit Pearl Harbour. I’ve read and watch the movie, so I wanted to see the place by myself. I think a lot of tourists will also visit the historical spot because Pearl Harbor has its historical significance landmarks like a poignant memorial, a mighty battleship, a World War II submarine, and an aviation museum.

A free and easy trip in Hawaii will be much better than a tour. You can easily plan a trip online from Hawaii’s official site. So, have fun there ya?

Hubby’s cousin who is getting married is still indecisive about the honeymoon. Frankly, my honeymoon was not properly planned as well and we got the tickets in a hurry. We went to Korea because that was the only trip available which coincided with my leave.

But I knew that was not my dream honeymoon because Korea is far from being a romantic honeymoon spot. I wanted to go to Hawaii, but then it was too rush for us back then. So, I hope that hubby’s cousin will decide on going to Hawaii for their honeymoon.

If they have friends and family who want to go along, they can easily get a Hawaii Condo and share out the cost. Yes, I know, it may not be so romantic if there are other parties going along with the trip, but since they are worrying about the budget, staying in a condo with friends may be a good choice.

Anyway, they better make up their mind soon as the wedding is only 2 weeks from now!

How to Pack Like a Pro?

Jun-28-2007 By

I love traveling. When it comes to packing, I tend to overpack the stuffs for my kids, but not for myself. Once when I had a convention in Genting, I packed everything for the kids but left my dinner dress for the formal dinner. I was worried, but luckily I had a halter blouse and pants to go for the night.

So, I have always wanted to learn more about packing like a pro. Sometimes, I tend to leave so much things for myself and I ended up buying mostly the daily stuffs, but not something special from the trip.

But there is one thing I will always remember to pack —- disposable panties! Don’t tell me to bring back dirty underwear, I hate it.

Last night, my hubby said he will try to read my blogs, all of them. So, I’m writing this post as a friendly reminder of one of his promises which is yet to be fulfilled.

When I first dating hubby, we have this little “agreement” that we will go to Hawaii on our 10 years anniversary of courtship. Frankly, I don’t think he still remembers this! So, hopefully this post will give him a good hint!

Both of us like going to places with sandy beaches to enjoy the natural non destructed environment, just do nothing but sunbathing! Undoubted, Kauai, Hawaii is a perfect choice.

If I’m going, I would prefer to choose some accommodation that is environmentally friendly as well, as I hate to see how tourist has damaged some part of the world’s famous tourist spots.

And not forgetting, scuba diving and snorkeling too! See how clear the water is? Just can’t wait for the day to come for my first trip to Hawaii.

So, dear, if you read this, you better make this happen. Don’t tell me you still have a few more years before the anniversary, ok? The plan can be brought forward!

My Dream Vacation

Jun-27-2007 By

I’ve just came back shopping for more yarn. When I was there, I saw some nice knitted bikini, and I was so tempted to get one. I’m going off to Bali in August, and I’m not sure if I can finish the bikini by then. It is quite a rush, so if I knit one now, I will only reserve the bikini until I have a change to go to Hawaii next time. It will be nice to have a knitted bikini for my dream vacation.

I’ve look up the prices of the condos and rental homes from in Hawaii. Some of them are not too expensive at all, and I know we can afford them. However, I have to total up the money we need for the flight tickets, food, car, shopping and accommodation, wah! It will really cost us a fortune after multiplying with 3.5! But it’s one of the vacation trips I have also been looking forward too, and hopefully, we will be able to go there soon.

Travel Agency

Jun-26-2007 By

Lovely Mummy and Mummy in Vain’s husband are going to set up a travel agency soon. So, they ask me to get my flight tickets from them when we are traveling in the future. Well, if they can help me to save up on the tickets, why not? The planes will be the same anyway!

However, I still prefer free and easy trip, even if my friends own the company. Most of the tours of travel agencies are too tired and packed, and I don’t like it much. Unless they give me lots of discount, then I will think about it. :P

Surfing

Jun-26-2007 By

I have no idea how to surf, but BIL#4 is very good at it. He used to practice a lot in Thailand and he has always wanted to surf in other places with great waves to try out his skill. He has not been to Hawaii, but everyone knows that he is drying to surf there one day.

Just imagine those endless incredible waves of Hawaii pushing your surf board further, don’t you feel the thrill of trying it out too? Even if you do not know now to surf, there are surf classes available in which you can take up some short courses and feel the waves by yourself. I know my hubby is willing to try it, but I am too chicken to do this. I better sit on the beach and take his photo instead. LOL!

So, if you like surfing, go to Hawaii.

Long Holiday

Jun-26-2007 By

I was very amazed when my blogger friend Doris told me that they went for a long holiday in New Zealand for a month. Firstly, 30 days is very long for a family vacation abroad, and I have no idea how am I going to pack if we are going away for so long!

I have always prefer to over pack, than under pack for my kids. Sometimes, my kids will easily mess up themselves and needed to be change very frequently. So, I prefer to bring abundant of their stuffs as precaution than running out of supplies in a foreign country.

If we are going for a vacation which is as long as 30 days, I think I need to find some movers to help me out too! If we are staying in rented homes, I need to bring along their toys, CDs, pillows, bolsters and not to mention, hubby’s golf set! Wah, it’s like moving away to another new home!

So, I definitely need a mover to help me out. Ha!

MATTA Fair

Jun-26-2007 By

If you haven’t heard of it yet, the MATTA Fair is going to be held in Penang International Sports Arena (Pisa) from 29th June to 1st July 2007. Too bad I can’t be back to Penang next week, if not I will surely wanted to find out more about Australia. I’m not sure if we can make it this year, but I would like to know about the budget of a trip to Melbourne.

But everything can only be confirmed once I know the budget and hubby’s schedule. If it’s too expensive, then we have to postpone the trip after a few years. Anyway, we are going to Bali soon, let us just enjoy this trip first before planning for another one. Well, unless we strike a lottery, then we can just leave anything we want and forget about MATTA Fair! LOL!

Hawaiian Food Festival

Jun-24-2007 By

It’s June, and if you are in Hawaii, don’t you forget to check out their annual food festival which will be held on the island of O‘ahu. This three-day event will showcase food samplings from more than 25 of the island’s top restaurants. Besides that, there will be live musical entertainment, cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, a beer garden and family exhibits. But it’s not free of charged as you need to pay a admission fee.

Besides the local delicacies, most of us love Hawaii’s white sandy beaches and the clear blue sea. It is truly a heaven for tourists who love to have a beach vacation where you are really relax and do nothing else but sunbathing.

So, if you wondering where should you go this summer, think about Hawaii. I would go there too if I can afford the trip now!
