Air Turbulence

Feb-29-2008 By shoppingmum

We didn’t have a smooth flight yesterday. Firstly, it was raining heavily at LCCT and we got wet the moment we stepped out from our coach to the airport. The rain didn’t stop 2 hours later, and we had to walk to the place in a rain. Gee…it’s a heavy rain, so I guess everyone’s wet by the time they got themselves seated on the plane.

Due to the bad weather, the unloading and loading of luggage bags took longer than it was and our flight was delayed. Then, there were numerous air turbulence that made you felt like sea sick, if you can’t stand it. I felt like tearing off the plasma tv mount if I got one in my hands.

Then, by the time we arrived, I noticed that my feet ache like hell as I wore the wrong pumps for this journey. I couldn’t walk fast and there was no shoes being sold at Bangkok International Airport.

We quickly checked the map and see if we could go shopping for my shoes ASAP! I got to get a new pair of shoes! LOL! Seriously, after the air turbulence and aching feet arriving in Bangkok, I didn’t feel like doing anything much but ZZzzzz until dawn.

I love Barbie dolls and I used to have a few of them when I was a little girl. I hope that my gal will love it too and I might want to decorate her room in pink and full of Barbie dolls, a nice doll house, as well as the handsome Ken. LOL!

But anyway, you don’t have to paint the room in pink and spend so much on Barbie dolls if you just want to put a smile on a little girl now. Just drop by the Barbie Room at Sheraton Subang Hotel and Towers and most girls will be thrilled to spend a night there, with the company of other girls or you. The rooms are not going to be there forever, and they are only available until the end of February. So you better hurry up!

The exclusive room package is priced at RM380++ per room per night and it includes buffet breakfast for two children, a goodie bag, 20% discounts on Sunway Lagoon Theme Park Tickets and enjoys free shuttle service to the theme park.

So, does the room equipped with air purifiers? Too bad my gal is too young for this, and hopefully, the Barbie rooms will be available a few years later. By then, she’s old enough to enjoy playing with them.

To Bangkok Again

Feb-26-2008 By shoppingmum

I’m leaving for Bangkok again in 2 days and hopefully, I will have some free time to travel around some interesting places and snap photos to be shared on this blog. Actually, we have lots of things to do on this trip, and my kids are not coming along. It’s not a honeymoon trip for hubby and I, so you can leave the hot lingerie out of this. LOL!

It’s more like a trip for us to get things ready before moving over to Bangkok as a family, so there’s nothing relaxing about it. I just wish that we will find a house in time. There’s the most important mission of the trip! So, if I don’t have anything interesting to blog about this trip, you should know how busy I am.

Cruise Lines by Direct Line Cruises

Feb-24-2008 By shoppingmum

My friend is going on a cruise next month and she’s going to sail around Australia for 3 weeks! It sounds like a nice trip but I don’t want to go on a cruise trip to Australia. If I possible, I would like to go for the cruise in Hawaii. Hubby promised me a honeymoon trip to Hawaii and hopefully, we can allocate 7 nights on Norwegian Cruise Line for a round-trip from Honolulu to enjoy the nice sea around Hawaii.

It’s not hard to arrange for the cruise trip as Direct Line Cruises has everything to offer. Some of the cruise lines include Celebrity Cruises, Carnival Cruises and Canada Cruises. These cruise lines offers trips to Bermuda, Bahamas, Alaska, Canada, Caribbean, Europe, and various countries. I think it will take you a lifetime to venture to all these places if you want to cover them all on cruise. LOL!

If you decided to book your trip with Direct Line Cruises, please take not that your travel insurance is included in your fares without extra cost. if you are a resident of united states. However, the Cruise Protection Plan does not cover your air flight booked through Direct Line Cruises or if you cruise trip is shorter than 4 nights. For international travelers like us, it’s best to talk to our local traveling agencies and ask about the travel insurance. I always get one if I’m going for a trip.

China Town in Bangkok

Feb-19-2008 By shoppingmum

I haven’t been to the China Town in Bangkok for years. I still remembered that we had nice tiger prawns at one of the stalls situated by the road and they were simply delicious! Besides that, we took some bird nest soup, but I don’t think it’s real judging from its price. It’s probably some sweetened jelly soup as bird nest has always been expensive anyway.

So, hopefully hubby and get his discussion on digital signage done as soon as possible and we can find a house successful on our trip to Bangkok next week, then we will have more time to explore the city of Bangkok. Not to mention, I hope that I can drop by the China Town and snap some photos too.

Chauffeur To Airport

Feb-18-2008 By shoppingmum

Taking the plane is the fastest way to go around, but getting to the airport in time for the check in or coming back from the airport may not be an easy task if you are not staying around one of the international airports in Malaysia. Most of the time, we take our flights at KLIA or ICCT, thus we have to get someone to give just a drive to the airports or just take the bus. It’s quite convenient, but if you are traveling with elderly, kids or leaving with lots of luggages, you might want to get a private chauffeur to drive you to the airport. Some of my friends said that you can take the airport limousines, but they are more costly.

Since I will be traveling more throughout the year, I went around to look for the contact number of the company that provide such services. You can basically choose the types of cars based on your budget and number of passengers. Besides that, they will pick you up at your door step and send you straight back home if you arrange for their services after coming back from your trip. I think it’s great to know another option as taking the bus means that we have to stick to the schedule and some times, we wasted a few hours waiting for one.

I’m so glad that I found the lady who gave me the contact number. Maybe I should just use the Lillian Vernon coupons to get her something nice as a token of appreciation huh?

Al Alhambra of Spain

Feb-14-2008 By shoppingmum

If I have a chance to visit Spain one day, I wish that I can the Al Alhambra in Granada, Spain. It was a palace, fortress and home to the Nasrid Sultans. Spain was once ruled by Muslim kings, if I’m not mistaken. I guess we read a lot about it from world history in high school huh?

Actually, it’s not easy to visit this palace as you need to book for the tickets in advance. Furthermore, you can’t spend too much time in it. That’s why you might need to stay one of the Granada Hotels if you plan to some more time at Alhambra, and you shouldn’t miss the place if you are planning for a Holidays in Spain.

Besides that, I think I will spend more time in other Andalusian cities like Seville or Malaga too. Hopefully, I can afford to stay at some nice Seville Hotels as well as Malaga Hotels. Gee…I really to make more money for vacation!

Travel to Osaka, Japan

Feb-12-2008 By shoppingmum

One of my blogger friends is having a holiday in Osaka right now. Gee…I’m so jealous! LOL! A few years ago, we planned for a skiing trip to Osaka or Korea. We picked Korea because the departure date to Osaka was not suitable for me. Until now BIL still complained that I spoiled their skiing trip as there wasn’t a lot of snow in Korea as comparing to Osaka that year.

But if I can make a trip to Japan, I would like to shop by Tokyo, Kyoto as well as Osaka. My dad went there a few times and I know that he would love to visit Osaka again. So, it’s going to be a family trip, if possible. There are so many interesting places in Osaka such as the Osaka-jo Castle, Universal Studios Japan, Osaka Aquarium (Kaiyukan) and many more. My kids will love to visit the aquarium!

Of course, I won’t miss the chance of shopping in Osaka in some of these places below:

1. Sennichimae Doguya-Suji
2. Shinsaibashi-Suji
3. Crysta Nagahori
4. Umeda Shopping Arcade
5. Den Den Town
6. Hankyu Entertainment Park
7. Nan Nan Town
8. Tennoji
9. Tempozan Marketplace
10. Ame-Mura

Let’s see if I can get some nice clothes, handicrafts, anti-aging skincare products as well as some nice Japanese food there. I just can’t wait for my trip to Japan, and hopefully, we have the budget for it as soon as possible.

On The Highway During Festive Season

Feb-12-2008 By shoppingmum

I’m glad that Chinese New Year is over by now and most of us have gone back home to work or school. I came back from Penang to Ipoh on Sunday, and the traffic was very bad. We couldn’t even get on the highway toll from Juru, and thus, we went back via Butterworth Kulim Express (BKE) to Grik and from there, we drove all the way to Kuala Kangsar and came back with the major trunk roads to Ipoh. It took us about 5 hours to reach home! Normally, it will only take us about one and a half hour for the journey.

Seriously, if I can avoid it, I would prefer to stay at home or only travel after the crowd has left. I don’t know why everyone has to travel on the same days and driving bumper to bumper for long hours, it’s very exhausting. I saw some buses with tourists too, and I would better leave all those trips alone and travel during other holidays but not Chinese New Year or Hari Raya.

Thus, I think some of my friends who worked during Chinese New Year are so lucky. One of my friends was busy doing her employee performance evaluations and she worked on the first and second day of Chinese New Year. She had triple pay for her work! No wonder she’s doing so well in her job, how many of us willing to work on all the festive holidays?

Shopping In Hong Kong

Feb-9-2008 By shoppingmum

My brother and his wife had just come back from a trip to Hong Kong. They shopped a lot on this trip and I’m so jealous! I have always wanted to shop in Hong Kong, but hubby plans to bring the kids along, so it’s not going to be easy for me to shop. I can’t shop when I’m watching over my kids, even if hubby tells me he will take care of them, I just don’t have confident in him. Besides, I know how active my kids are, it’s not easy to watch over them in a crowded shopping mall.

Nonetheless, I Googled for some sites that will be useful when I have a chance to shop in Hong Kong. If you are interested, you can find out more about them here, here and here. But before that, I better get some diet pills and slim down a bit. Some of the clothes in Hong Kong are so small!
