Most Wanted

Aug-27-2008 By shoppingmum

I captured this photo of Taksin and his wife on a street in Bangkok, and gosh, that’s really one big advertisement board on most wanted criminal! I seriously don’t think they can come back to their homeland without face off surgery and imposing themselves as someone else with fake passports and travel documents. Only an DNA testing can confirm who they are then… :P

Seriously, this is my first time seeing a Wanted photo on a big advertisement board!

Air Asia Free Seating

Aug-26-2008 By shoppingmum

If you have any plan to fly with AirAsia some time from 1 Apr to 31 Jul 2009, please book soon within 26 – 31 Aug 2008 as Air Asia is giving away free seats again! It’s always more affordable to fly with Air Asia, if you can take the nonsense at queuing to aboard as the express passes are scarce, and if you can survive with simple meals.

I don’t really mind about those, as long as I can fly to my destination safely and at cheaper rate, who cares? LOL! I would rather save my money up for shopping or changing my shower faucets to designer brands. LOL! Just kidding la…

Anyway, don’t miss the free seats giveaway!

Trip To Pattaya Cancelled

Aug-26-2008 By shoppingmum

I’m so stressed out and it’s a pity that we have to cancel the trip to Pattaya. I thought a beach vacation will do me better as I’m quite busy with work lately, I need a short weekend to rejuvenate myself. There is nothing better to do than going to the beach!

But I guess I can settle myself with shopping and looking for a facial and acne treatment as self pampering. Gee….I really want to go to the beach!

I picked Grand Pearl Cruise for my friends on our boat tour on Chao Phraya River. The ride starts in the evening, and we will have international buffer aboard.

I hope that my friends have got their travel insurance ready for this trip as they will surely love the boat ride. Don’t you wish to see the river view at night? :)

Van Rental in Bangkok

Aug-22-2008 By shoppingmum

I got my friend a rental van on their trip to Bangkok. Hubby is too busy to drive them around, so it’s best to rent a van for their convenience. It’s not hard to get a taxi, but I’ve encountered a few reckless taxi drivers who speed like hell, so it’s best to avoid them unless you want to get yourself a heart attack!

I might be joining them for a day or 2, if I’m not too busy with my work and fence installation at home. Gee…the timing is not right at all and we really can’t expect visitors this month. Anyway, I hope that they will enjoy their trip. Thank god I found van rental service in Bangkok for them!

Walking Down The Streets in Bangkok

Aug-19-2008 By shoppingmum

Last Sunday, we went to the busy city of Bangkok to try the tasty toast at Mont. We parked our car rather far away, and we had to walk through the alley to reach our car after the afternoon tea. I took some photos of the old houses and I really enjoyed seeing those local old people sitting on the benches, doing nothing much except enjoying some gossips.

My kids loved the walk too, but most of the time, they were not walking. LOL!

IMG_5983 by you.

I saw some nice semi-wooden houses, and SIL told me that they belong to the monks. No wonder the houses are built around the temple (wat).

So, isn’t it nice to have a nice walk like this to see how the locals live and understand more about Bangkok? But after the walk, I felt like going to one of those massage therapy schools for a nice foot massage. :P

Family Trip to Bangkok

Aug-13-2008 By shoppingmum

My friends and I have finally come out with the agenda. They will visit us in Bangkok next month, and since we have kids traveling along, it’s best to visit those places which are more fun for kids. So, here’s the plan…

Day 1: Arrive in Bangkok and shop at Central World

Day 2: Safari World and Marine Park

Day 3: Dream World

Day 4: Tiger Zoo and Crocodile Farm

Day 5: Shopping and rush to the airport!

The only problem now is hubby is not going to join us for 5 days, so we don’t have a driver! I can’t possible drive around because I don’t know the route. Furthermore, I can’t handle my kids all by myself at these places. So, I hope that hubby won’t be too busy with his customers and financial reporting so that all of us can have a great time on this family trip.

Farm Chokchai

Aug-10-2008 By shoppingmum

Farm Chokchai is only a distance away from the busy Bangkok city, and if you are traveling to Bangkok with kids, don’t miss this farm where your children can experience the real Agro life which is uncommon for city kids. We went there some time ago and my kids enjoyed it a lot.

They saw the milking process and the clip on how pasteurized milk and ice-cream are made. There are lots of cattle there, and you can even try horse or pony riding, enjoy the cowboy and dog shows, and have some fun feeding the animals at the petting zoo.

We have plans to visit Farm Chokchai again but this time we will go for a stay.

Too bad we will only stay in the boutique tent but not in a farmhouse. I wonder how farmhouse sinks look like? Should be the same as our normal sinks huh? LOL!

BTW, don’t miss the steaks. They are super yummy!

A Break From Blogging

Aug-4-2008 By shoppingmum

We went to a few interesting places in Bangkok, but I only blogged about them at my kids’ blog. I don’t have time to update most of my blogs, even if the niche fits. Maybe I will update more about traveling when my friends are here for a holiday. We will be going around in Bangkok city and Pattaya, so it’s going to be more interesting.

I went shopping just now and I think I should get a new pair of swimsuit. I haven’t bought any for years! It’s time to get a new pair of swimsuit, but not bikini. I bought some bikini last year, but I don’t feel like wearing them anymore, unless I lose weight with Slimquick. LOL!

Anyway, do check out my kids’ blog if you are interested to know more the places we went.

Home Soon

Aug-4-2008 By shoppingmum

For the past 5 days, my hubby aka helper was away for a fair and I had to handle the kids all by myself. Before we came to Bangkok, I’m used to handling them alone, but since I’ve started working, I really don’t have that high level of energy. I really need some energy pills to keep up with things at both office and home.

My kids are great, but sometimes, they are driving me nuts. I guess my patience level is not as high as before, and I get tired easily now. I even had to turn down their demand of going to the playground one day as I was not up to it. I let them watch TV instead. What a lazy mother huh? But at certain times, I have to admit that TV is a great babysitter, as long as you don’t overuse it. I set limits for them too, and they won’t spend much time on TV, unless we allow so.

Hopefully, I won’t be too busy when we fly back some time this week. Without work for a week, I think my energy level will come back.
