Missed Muek Lek’s Sunflower Field

Dec-29-2009 By shoppingmum

We’ve been talking about going back to Muek Lek, after our trip to the sunflower field last year, but to no avail. We have been very busy, and I think we will miss the pretty sunflowers this year. It might be too late now and the sunflowers might already be harvested.

I thought of snapping some nice photos in Muek Lek, considering that I already own an dSLR. :P Too bad I don’t have a marco lens, which cost as much as my insurance quote. Ouch! So I can’t snap any close shot, unless I know how to play with the setting. :P

Oh well, maybe next year we will visit the sunflower field again.

Happy New Year!

Dec-29-2009 By shoppingmum

I’ve been pretty busy lately, not due to traveling but busy celebrating this holiday season with love ones. I would love to go for another short trip before the new year, but I guess it’s pretty tight and hard to arrange for one.

Maybe we will just count down to the new year by drinking wine and seeing some friends enjoying Black and Mild over new year’s eve dinner. But then, I’m not organizing one. LOL! I would love to be invited that going through all the hassle. :P

Anyway, Happy New Year!

Similan Islands

Dec-22-2009 By shoppingmum

I love Similan Islands and the same goes to my kids. We would love to go back there again soon, but maybe not anytime next year unless hubby gets some high paying Philadelphia jobs. But judging from his ego, he won’t go back to working for others. :P

I snapped a lot of photos here, but only have a few to share. The rest are still in RAW and I’m too lazy to convert them. :P

Honeymoon Bay on Koh Ha (Island no.5)

Na Beach on Koh Miang (Island no. 4)

Na Beach

My kids on the beach

The photos are finally up. I should have posted them along with this post, but the connection was very bad that day and no photos could not uploaded. Thus, I shall post the photos here.

Karon Beach

The beach is not as crowded as Patong, so I prefer it here for family vacation. I’ve always loved a quiet place for holiday, so I don’t mind about the empty benches. LOL!

The waves.

Here are some shots of Ramada Resort:

The pool.

There are 2 pools here, and we only spent the time at the pool below:

The pool beside the Kidz Club.

I didn’t snap any photo in the room because there is nothing special about it. Not that there is any 4396710 water filter or nice furnishing of the room either. Frankly, the deluxe rooms are not that nice, so maybe you should consider the suites.

Some part of the resort.

King’s Birthday in Thailand

Dec-5-2009 By shoppingmum

It’s the King’s birthday today and we are having a long weekend here. Too bad that I only realized this yesterday, so it’s too late to plan for anything. I don’t have the budget to plan for a short stay away too, let alone a jamaica vacation abroad!

We went to Central World this afternoon to snap some photos of the Christmas decoration, and with Christmas just around the corner, we will have another week of holiday soon. Again, there is no vacation plan!!! Argh….

I really hope that I’m married to a multimillionaire. LOL!

Ramada Resort, Karon Beach Phuket

Dec-5-2009 By shoppingmum

It’s our long waiting weekend getaway to Phuket, and we were so anticipated for the day to come. Needless to say, my kids were thrilled about the whole idea of flying to Phuket for sunshine and beaches as they have always loved going to the beach.

I picked Ramada Resort, after searching through the list of hotels and resorts available in Phuket. It was the peak season, so most resorts were rather pricey. I only planned for a budget trip, and I didn’t want to stay in Patong. Thus, Karon beach is another option, and despite of choosing Hilton, I chose Ramada Resort due to the cheaper room rate.

Anyway, we didn’t spend much time in the room, so I don’t mind much about it. Frankly, I don’t like the room. It’s due to the concrete flooring and sofa seat. I don’t know why they used concrete just like that!!! It’s so ….. unfurnished to me.

I’m still uploading the photos, so I will update about Ramada Resort again once they are uploaded. Blame it on the slow connection tonight. I’m going to need an acne treatment over the frustration soon!

Millenium Hilton Bangkok Hotel

Dec-2-2009 By shoppingmum

We spent a nice weekend at Millenium Hilton last month in celebration of my birthday, and all of us had a great time there. We stayed at one of the executive suites, and my kids love the room a lot. Maybe they were attracted to the Samsung flat screen TV on the wall. :P

The living area in the suite.

The bedroom

My boy jumped on the bed before I managed to take a snap, so the bed was a bit messy.

The view from the room. It’s Chao Phraya River.

Amenities by Crabtree and Evelyn. I love them!

The sunset view from the other side of our suite.

We were given a complementary birthday cake, and I was happy about it. On top of that, we love the pool too.

Too bad it was too windy and cold for a nice swim, so after dipping in the water for awhile, my kids played in the sand area instead.

Just grab a nice book and you can spend the whole afternoon here.

I didn’t snap a lot of photos in Hilton, but I can share 2 shots taken at the lobby.

Hopefully, we will go for another stay again at Hilton Bangkok. :)
