Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

Jan-30-2010 By shoppingmum

I’ve almost forgotten about our trip to Dumnoen Saduak Floating Market on the last day of 2009. This floating market is about 2 hours away from the city, but hubby was eager to check it out.

It’s just like a normal market, but not the usual wet markets I visit. You can basically find a lot of things here, but most of them are handicrafts. There are food, antic toys and books and clothes too.

If you fancy a photo shot with the python, feel free to try it out.

We took a ride on the boat, and it’s not too expensive. If you need to get anything, just ask the boat to park by the side, or by the boat stalls for your shopping need.

You can grab some guavas!

I didn’t get these bags, if you are wondering. :P I don’t support pirated products. :P

Our boat ride including a short tour to coconut sugar farm.

Remember to get a pack of the coconut sugar, it’s really delicious!

You can shop for some handicrafts at this sugar farm too.

I still have some photos to share on this trip to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Stay tune for next post.

My Webstore

Jan-22-2010 By shoppingmum

I’ve set up a webstore and did my first biz this morning and it feels so good! Of course, I don’t put much hope in making a lot of money, and I might not even be able to afford dental implants Plano anytime this year, if I do make a profit from this store, but I still feel like giving it a try.

At least I have something to do at the office, despite the normal routine. :)

Koh Chang, Here I Come!

Jan-22-2010 By shoppingmum

We are going to the beach again in 2 weeks, and this time, it will be an island called Koh Chang. I haven’t been there, but I’ve some so much about it. It’s not as commercial as Phuket, but I guess it will be just as nice.

KohChangBeach

We will be there on a company trip that includes team building games and snorkeling. So, my kids will be having a lot of fun again.

SIL booked the rooms at a new hotel found at the travel fair recently. I didn’t get the name of the hotel from the pop displays, maybe I will ask her again later and check it out. I hope that it’s a nice place to stay.

Just a rant

Jan-16-2010 By shoppingmum

Hubby has finally taken my suggestion of getting some jobs in sales by submitting his resume, but he’s not serious about it. He still wants to work on his biz, which I think it’s too slow to grow. I really wish that he can get a stable job, and with a fixed income, he can still pursue his dream of setting up his biz in a foreign land.

Why can’t he be simpler? Just get a high paid job and let the wife be a tai tai? Argh…

My Own Vacation

Jan-14-2010 By shoppingmum

I wonder if it’s possible for me to have a vacation just by myself, without my kids and anyone else. SIL tried this a few times, and she said it’s nice. She could do anything she wanted at her own time, and it made her feel better after a short trip. I do aware of the risk of a lady traveling by herself, that’s why I haven’t done it before!

I’ve been yearning to visit Japan but hubby is not keen at all. Tugging 2 kids along will mean that we will be visiting Disneyland and other kiddie attraction spots, so shopping will be quite hard. I wish that I can go there on my own, there are so many things I want to buy there, such as anti aging skin products, bento stuffs, all those cute gadgets and clothes!

Mm…when will my dream come through?

Spa Packages in Thailand

Jan-14-2010 By shoppingmum

I’m still looking for that resort but I found another website with a list of spa packages in Thailand. One of my ideal holiday will be doing nothing but getting a lot of rest and spa!!! I love massage, and getting a good one might not be easy, especially to someone who’s been doing it for 10 years. :P

I wonder if they have top acne treatment at the spa centers too? Maybe hubby needs one. LOL!

Beverly Hills Resort Koh Samui

Jan-14-2010 By shoppingmum

Funny, I can’t seem to find the website of Beverly Hills Resort Koh Samui. We booked the room from this resort a few months ago from the travel fair, and even paid for the package. I thought of checking out the room and plan for our trip this year, but I can’t find the website! Gosh, where is it? LOL!

All we know is this resort is situated at the tallest point of Koh Samui, and some said its view is breathtaking. But I might need to get some hgh supplement first, before we go for this trip. LOL!

Now, where is the website?

Universal Studio Singapore

Jan-14-2010 By shoppingmum

I’ve almost forgotten about Universal Studio Singapore is opening soon, until my friend reminded me. I tried to check out the hotel rates but it’s not available yet. I wonder if the website is working correctly? LOL!

I wish that we can take a peep of the famous theme this year, but judging from how stressful hubby is in maintaining our financial situation and business, I should not be over demanding now. He’s going to have acne or get bald if he has too much in mind!

Sigh…when can I visit Universal Studio Singapore?

Going to Koh Chang and Hua Hin

Jan-14-2010 By shoppingmum

I am going to the beach again next month, not one, but 2! So, I better get rid belly fat fast! It’s time to put on the bikini again! Yippie! LOL!

The first trip is to Koh Chang with the office staffs, and the second trip is to Hua Hin. Both places sound like fun, and I haven’t been there before.

I shall search the net and see what are the interesting spots in these 2 destinations.

Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi, Thailand

Jan-9-2010 By shoppingmum

It’s great that BIL had bought a bigger SUV, so all of us can just hop in the same car for short trips. They are doing very well last year, with bigger house and a brand new year, gee…I wish we can do the same too this year! Let’s pray for better prospect in our business.

So, after a night at Nusa Playa Hotel and Spa, we checked out in the afternoon and visited Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi. I’ve heard about this zoo, but we went to Sri Racha Tiger Zoo on our precious trips.

You can get really close to the less harmful animal, and food feeding is allowed.

It’s a great place for kids to get some close up with wild animals, as long as their parents are keeping an eye on them.

Other animals are kept in captivity, and there are some which you can get a closer look.

My kids love this zoo so much, and I think we will come back here again. Anyway, it’s not too far from the city, and with the cheapest car insurance renewed, we might as well travel for a few more short trips this year.
