Dream House

I saw a nice gated community with one of my favorite house designs but too bad it’s located very far away from our area. Even if we may be able to afford one next time, we might have to find another school, change our office location and start all over again at the other side of the town. Sigh… but it’s way much nicer than Oak Island real estate and some of the moobans in our area.

All units have its own private pool and I like the way the house is designed to surround the pool in the inner court. Price wise, let’s just say that it will cost a bomb.

Flooded

I went to Home Pro sale last weekend and was shocked to see how expensive sferra sheets are selling her e. I can’t possible buy such expensive sheets now so maybe I will drop by BIG+BIG this Sunday, if the flood hasn’t hit the city yet.

We have to prepare for our move but things are not going as expected. Our old house is all flooded and it’s non accessible anymore. I can’t move out bulky stuffs out anymore, and might be expecting most loss as water has flooded the house.

I guess we will need to strike a lottery to buy everything in cash now!

Driving through a flooded road is not fun at home. I had almost needed roadside assistance yesterday when I drove past a road with 30cm flood water. It’s a mistake to go there yesterday, so you can’t imagine how frustrated and scared I was driving in the water.

The flood is getting worse but then again, we have evacuated. It was a false alarm but I don’t care. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Super Crowded Suvarnabhumi Airport

Being one of the frequent users at Suvarnabhumi Airport, I must say that traveling with kids does bring a lot of convenience. If I travel alone, I would have to queue for an hour or so at the passport control counters at both departure and arrival halls, but if I travel with my kids, we are allowed to use the express lanes.

That’s why it’s always better to arrive there early so that you won’t be caught up at long queue. I never seem to have much time doing shopping or checking out Kichler lighting at the duty free zone. Even if my kids might save me some time at the queues but dragging them into the designer stores is not a good idea.

Weather is pretty nice in Bangkok these days. It’s sunny, but cool. Forget about packing your rain boots, it hardly rains lately.

I would love to go to the city this weekend for window shopping, but if you have got tired of shopping in the city, do drop by Madame Tussauds Bangkok at Siam Discovery, which is only a stone throw away from Siam Paragon.

You got to sit on Obama’s chair.

Shopping in Bangkok

My relatives were here for 2 weeks, and I brought them shopping for a day at Platinum Fashion Fashion Mall. Even if both of them are over 60 years old, but they had a great time shopping for their children and grandchildren. They had a great time shopping for clothes and shoes at CHEAPER price!

Too bad they were running out of time to get anything for themselves, not even ties! But they vowed to return shopping in Bangkok again.

I can’t wait for their next trip to Bangkok!

Hubby’s brother is here for a short break, and they have the whole week well planned out. Today, they will be a Siam Paragon and the kids will visit the aquarium. I hope that we will bring our kids there again since it’s been awhile since our last visit. The glass boat ride is fun, if you can take the idea of riding on water with sharks at your the bottom of your feet!

Anyway, they will plan a day for shopping, and also check out the eczema treatments at the skin clinic. There are a lot of skin clinics in Bangkok, and most of them are quite affordable. I hope that I have time to join SIL at Platinum Fashion Mall. I’m so desperate for a retail therapy.

Serious Traffic Jam

Most Thai will be leaving the city for the long weekend, so the traffic should be pretty bad this evening. I don’t think I will be caught in one as I leave work way before the traffic jam starts. Nonetheless, the road should be rather busy, and traffic can be rather slow. I better plan my time well.

When we were first here, we would plan for short trips away, but now, we don’t have mood for that. Being caught in a bad traffic can be very tiring, especially if you need double the time to reach your destination. There was once when we took more than 8 hours to reach Korat, and the kids basically trapped in the car, and slept most of the time without sleep aid. It’s so bored for them, and us too!

So, the best place to be during holiday is our home sweet home, or the shopping malls!

Healing Process

After a few months of Red protest, everything has finally come to an end. But Central World is gone. Some people were killed but I am not sad over the protesters that passed away. They were given chances to leave but they didn’t take it. It’s not easy to end this fight without the use of military since the protesters were well armed as well.

The damage is very bad for this country and god knows how long will it take to recover. No life insurance quotes cover terrorism right? But now everyone knows how dangerous can hatred be.

Its time to put those criminals into justice and bring peace to the land of smile.
