I quite like Hua Hin. It’s not as crowded as Pattaya, and the waves are quite gentle, so it’s great for kids.

The only disadvantage will be the smell. Horse riding are available here, but the horses poo and pee as they please, so the sand is quite stink some times. But it doesn’t seem to bother the kids, who refused to spend time at the entertainment centers, but on the beach and in the pool mostly.

That’s why I wanted to try other resorts with private beach next time. It should be a better vacation.

We went to Hua Hin during CNY, and SIL booked 2 family units and a deluxe room at Chom View Hotel. It’s not any 5 star hotel, but it is a lovely and affordable hotel for families. Not all units have the same design furniture. The other unit we booked had a queen bed, instead of the single bed in the 2nd bedroom. But anyway, it’s good enough for 15 of us, and my parents-in-law took the deluxe room at another building.

It’s a nice stay at Chom View Hotel, but I won’t stay here again on my future trips to Hua Hin. There are a lot of hotels and villas in Hua Hin, so I want to check them out too.

We only had a little time to check out the White Sand beach in Koh Chang island. I’m quite surprised to see the beach crowded by foreigners, instead of local Thais. Maybe it’s more popular for foreigners here? I joked with our male colleagues that they would be enjoying looking at girls in bikinis. LOL! Maybe they need extenze after this beach trip.

If I’m coming back to Koh Chang island again, I would love to stay at the resorts by the sea, instead of in the town. Staying at a beach resort is more for a holiday maker like me.

I am going to the beach again next month, not one, but 2! So, I better get rid belly fat fast! It’s time to put on the bikini again! Yippie! LOL!

The first trip is to Koh Chang with the office staffs, and the second trip is to Hua Hin. Both places sound like fun, and I haven’t been there before.

I shall search the net and see what are the interesting spots in these 2 destinations.

After checking into Nusa Playa Hotel and Spa, we immediately came out to the beach even if it’s already late at night. The tide was so low, you can have a nice walk on the long stretch of the beach.

The kids had great fun running around, and chasing after them was more tedious that working out at commercial fitness equipment.

It’s the first time my kids have ever spent so much time playing on the beach at night. It was fun seeing them enjoying themselves, while I tried to take some night shots. My night shots are pretty bad, so I needed more practice.

Yeap, I still need to work on it!

Let’s continue with our aimless wandering trip, shall we?

So, since we hatred the crowded Baen Saen beach, we decided to drop by Pattaya. What then, being one of the famous tourist spots in Thailand, Pattaya was very crowded too on the first day of 2010. We couldn’t get a room, and the traffic was congested. Thus, we went to Jomtien beach, which is not too far away from Pattaya.

We had luck on our side this time. After a quick dinner, we managed to find a hotel with 2 rooms. And it’s at Nusa Playa Hotel and Spa.

I haven’t noticed this hotel all the while, maybe I’ve missed it.

The price was reasonable and SIL got a discount with her credit card.

The only thing I don’t like about the hotel is the balcony. It’s quite dangerous for little kids, and it’s still under renovation for some part of the hotel. They didn’t block the restricted area well and my kid almost walked towards to open area of 28 floor! Gosh, mesothelioma won’t give me a fright at that time comparing to my kids’ safety.

But the room is good enough for a night. We didn’t have anything to complain about it. Breakfast was great too, considering that it’s not a 5-star hotel.

Best of all, even if this hotel has a lot of oversea tourists, but they check out very early in the morning. So, the pool was quite empty. LOL!

We had a great holiday this week, and most of the time was spent with close family members. Nonetheless, we didn’t have anything plan out, especially on the first day of 2010. We were pretty tired after staying up late counting down to the new year, but when BIL called us to pack some clothes and go on an aimless trip, we eagerly agreed.

Our first stop was in Baen Saen beach in Chonburi, which is suggested by hubby. The beach was crowded with local Thai and it’s so DIRTY! I don’t quite like most beaches, which are more populated by the locals. I think they don’t know how to maintain the cleanliness of the beaches. But then again, it was public holiday and no one was cleaning up the streets and bins. The public washrooms had such long queue, and unless you can stand the dirtiness, then just hold on to your bladder.

There was once when I went to one of the toilets in metal buildings and coach buses in Muek Lek, and mind you, it was so disgusting, I can’t do it again!!! So, we were only there in Baen Saen for less than 10 minutes and off we went to Pattaya.

I love Similan Islands and the same goes to my kids. We would love to go back there again soon, but maybe not anytime next year unless hubby gets some high paying Philadelphia jobs. But judging from his ego, he won’t go back to working for others.

The beach is not as crowded as Patong, so I prefer it here for family vacation. I’ve always loved a quiet place for holiday, so I don’t mind about the empty benches. LOL!

I didn’t snap any photo in the room because there is nothing special about it. Not that there is any 4396710 water filter or nice furnishing of the room either. Frankly, the deluxe rooms are not that nice, so maybe you should consider the suites.

Our friend invited us for a weekend stay at his place which is very near Sattahip beach, Chonburi. It’s very near to both Pattaya and Rayong, but I’ve never heard about it before. Thus, I was delighted when hubby told me about this weekend stay, and we visited the beach at Sattahip Naval Base, which is open to public in the weekends.

Despite the rubbish and stray dogs, this beach is still nice and “clean”. At least it’s much better than Pattaya beach, but please don’t compare it with one of those Green Study and unpolluted beaches like Ban Krut.

It’s a nice outing spot for kids as the beach is quite wide, and you can enjoy the swallow sea water and waves. Besides that, the shady tall trees provide a great spot for picnic, so don’t forget your picnic mat!

We stayed there for the whole evening until sunset. I think we will drop by this beach again, especially after our break back to Malaysia.
