I can just fall asleep right now if you pass me the patio cushions. I have had a tough week, and I’m so exhausted.

I deserve to have a break, and it will come soon in October. It’s only a short trip away to Khao Yai, but I’m looking forward to it. It’s hubby’s company trip, so I might be meeting some interesting people there. I hope that it’s a nice resort instead of some cheap chalets. I hate chalets.

Hopefully, the weather will be great by then instead of heavy downpour. I hope to bring my kids for some bird watching!

We went for the travel fair held at Impact Muang Thong Thani yesterday, but since it’s the last day of the fair, it’s very crowded with last minute shoppers. I got a few good deals last year at the fair and this year, we are not going to miss it!

We managed to buy a few hotel stays at affordable prices and we booked for a trip to Similan Islands during our stay in Phuket too.

Similan Islands is one of the best diving and snorkeling destination in Thailand, and it’s a well preserved national park. But do take note that:

Please note: The Similan Islands National Park is closed to ALL access from May 15th to November 1st each year. This is due to the weather conditions. It is not possible to visit the park or the surrounding waters during this time. Any operator selling you a tour during that time is not only breaking the law – but risking YOUR life.

I just can’t wait to check out how pretty the islands are.

Besides that, we found something interesting for the kids:

A submarine ride!!! And you can just board on deck from Pattaya. Why haven’t I known about this? Please check out www.Thaisubmarine.com for more details. That’s something we will do on our next trip to Pattaya.

There are a lot of travel agencies with travel packages abroad too, but we didn’t get any. With our tight travel budget, I can only plan a few short trips in Thailand. It’s a bit pathetic, but as long as we manage to spend some quality time together, I better stop complaining.

Oh ya, I found Cuti-cuti Malaysia too. LOL! I managed to snap some photos of the stage performance by standing near the tv stand, but I don’t think the dancers are Malaysian. They look like local Thais to me. LOL!

Our kids are very disappointed that our camping trips have been canceled twice due to the rainy season, so hubby really hopes that he can bring them camping at least once this year. It would be a wiser plan to go camping at the end of the year when it’s less likely to rain as the weather is cooler at night. During December, the temperature might drop to 11 deg or less in the city at night if it’s really cold. But I guess the temperature will drop further for national parks or northern Thailand.

So, if hubby is really serious about this, he should start preparing for the trip. We have a tent but I don’t think it can fit all 4 of us. Furthermore, we don’t have Sleeping bags, so we really need to buy some in order not to shiver in the cold at night!

I found this Dreamtime XL from Thermarest at Webtogs just now and I think this is perfect for us! We might only need to buy 2 sets as our kids can tug in with each of us throughout the nights. It offers warmth and comfort with a pillow top, so I don’t have to worry about our kids getting cold in the woods at night.

There is an end of summer sale right now and we can get 10% discount on this sleeping bag, if we purchase one. Too bad the shipping is quite expensive for us who stay in Asia! Nonetheless, free shipping is available across Europe. It’s a great bargain, so do check it out!

Gee…I wonder if I can find this at our local stores?

We made a trip to Kanchanaburi a couple of weeks ago, and our first stop was Erawan National Park. It took us a few hours to get there, but the trip was worth it. Erawan Waterfall is one of the most popular waterfalls in Thailand, and it’s not hard to see why.

This place might not be as well developed as Outer Banks, but if you love the nature, it’s the place for you. There are 7 levels of this waterfall, and if you come in early, you can explore the top part of the waterfall. We arrived here 30 minutes before the national park closed, so we could not make it to the top.

This park closes at 4.30pm, but it opens quite early in the morning. If you are a foreigner, you have to pay more for the entrance fee, but it’s not going to cost you a bomb.

Most of the visitors are here for picnic and a dip in the clean clear water. You can even swim side by side with the fish!

I would say this place is great, and so far, I’ve been to a few waterfalls in Thailand, Erawan seems to be my favorite one. Maybe I haven’t explored the rest yet, but Erawan waterfall is good enough for me. I should plan for another trip to Kanchanaburi again.
